Air Quality Standards

On-Board health Risk Assessment. Desk-top review

During this stage of the assessment engineers from Giles Consulting will assess air conditioning system plans and associated auxiliary plans in relation to risk of mould growth and distribution. Desk-top reviews are equally applicable for new-build designs or for in-service vessels.

Where the project involves a constructed vessel, an on-board analysis will take place. Giles Consulting engineers would review the quality of sir conditioning installation and that of associated air passages to evaluate risk of H.A.R.M.S. Furthermore, in-service vessels would undergo a review of operation and maintenance procedures.

Where appropriate, Giles Consulting will oversee the independent cleaning of air conditioning systems and associated areas of the vessel. A status report of system cleanliness would be created.

Following analysis of the reviews, system status report and required cleaning; Giles Consulting will tailor a programmed to minimise the risk of H.A.R.M.S. within the vessel. Recommendations would include both equipment and procedural requirements.
